Unit Overview & Lesson 1 – Helping at Home Vocabulary
Objective: In this unit, students will explore the theme of Helping at Home. They'll practice essential vocabulary and phrases related to household tasks, including “I wash the dishes” and “I sweep the floor.” Grammar lessons will focus on nouns and verbs, while phonics instruction will include word families like -at and identifying rhyming words. Activity 1: Vocabulary- Helping at Home
Today, we will learn action words (verbs) that we use when we help at home. These words are called verbs because they show actions.
Vocabulary Words:
Clean (e.g., "I clean my room.")
Pick up (e.g., "I pick up my toys.")
Wash (e.g., "I wash the dishes.")
Sweep (e.g., "I sweep the floor.")
Instructions:Look at the pictures of different chores at home. Can you say the action (verb) in each picture? Try to use the new words in your sentences!

Activity 2: Letters - Nn and Cc
Nn as in "Nose"
Cc as in "Cat"
Instructions:Look at objects around you. Can you find something that starts with the letter Nn? How about something that starts with Cc? Practice saying and writing these letters.
